Hello everyone! Well, I say “everyone” but I understand that this will mostly only be a few people, if any people! I have been wanting to scratch this proverbial itch (writing) for some time, and sitting in by favorite Starbucks seemed to be the place to begin. I am someone who loves to read. This was not always the case I must admit, but regardless, my interest has grown considerably over the last few years. I’ve entitled my blog “Everyday Ministry.” Why? Because I am burdened to make theology and doctrine extremely practical and to real people. Like most, I have opinions and perspectives that I believe to be correct. Those opinions will obviously impact my writing, but I trust it will not cloud my judgment and ability to communicate. My heart is to see men, women, teenagers, and children develop a thriving and personal relationship with Jesus Christ! Throughout this journey you will learn about me, and I trust I will have the opportunity to learn about you.
I love discussions! In fact, just last night sitting around a very squished booth in Waffle House (I know… I know…) with a group of friends and we talked church, recent Evangelical drama, the Corona Virus, and strangely enough beard oil preferences. Why do I share that? I have learned the most in life when I have good, vibrant, and lively discussion with people from all sorts of backgrounds. I can remember sitting in the back of a college class “Colonial America” listening to two people argue back and forth about how women are marginalized in government today. Ironically, or not ironically, it was the male student who was ardently rejecting the female student’s claim. My professor sat quietly in the front of the class smiling. Why? Because learning is an active sport! We cannot sit idly by on the sideline, especially with something so important as theology, and expect to make a difference. the Bible is not only filled with moral principles for life, but a story so important that the literal fate of humanity rests on it. I am excited to trace that story throughout my life’s experiences.
So, let’s begin this discussion together.
